Fear is the Enemy of Progress.

Fear is the feeling of inadequacy or inability to handle a situation.It is often based on the fact that we have not emotionally confronted the feelings internally or we lack experience in dealing with the situation we are afraid of. Fear is a common human problem but victory over fear is the first spiritual duty of man.

Each time you feel fear, it is a chance to grow more deliberately towards the fear. Successful people face their fears and act in spite of them. Unsuccessful people avoid their fears and act because of them. Fear that is not properly understood and managed, will cause failure by preventing us from taking necessary actions, speaking out when we should, approaching people, facing mistakes with a proactive attitude, addressing uncomfortable issues with people so as to build synergy, breaking off with losers who determine to stay that way etc. These are all tough decisions that require instant action in order to be successful in life.

People allow fear to paralyze them because they have not understood its psychology and so they mistakenly think they have something to lose which is not true. The day you realise that liberty or death is much better than chains, success or failure much better than average, to live victoriously or die courageously much better than non-existence etc then you must have killed your fear. Success or failure motivates us to work harder but being average kills ones dreams, destroys enthusiasm and steadily erodes motivation. An example of a deal that fear offers you is this”I want you to be average, to have a little bit of money”. When you accept such a deal, you become neutralized, paralyzed, and you can no longer make tough decisions because you feel comfortable with your average status. A millionaire once said ‘’To be successful, you have to be willing to do things now that others are unwilling to do ,so that you might be able to afford things tomorrow that others cannot afford”. Only the wise can understand this.

Successful people have found a way to properly manage their fears.Some one said ‘’Never show fear, feel it but don’t ever show it, not to your friends, business partners, not even to your wife, husband or kids’’. Fear must never be seen on your face or body language if you intend to be successful in life. As a leader, the minute you display fear and hesitate, people see it and lose confidence in you. Your enemies and critics can even get the upper hand and start attacking you. Unsuccessful people act because of their fears while successful people have learned to act despite their fears. Unsuccessful people manage their fears externally, stay within their comfort zone and just lose opportunities to grow.Each day, they have an excuse to make and those who are religious,keep announcing how it was not the will of God. The will of God concerning fear is that you should always take actions that destroy or contradict your fears because ’’God has not given us the spirit of fear ,but of power ,love and self- discipline” 2 Timothy 1:7.Fear cripples sound judgement, power, Love and it undermines success.

In life we need to learn to take bold action in spite of the feeling of fear. Some people think they can just go to a deliverance minister for him to cast out the fear demon from them and that will be good bye to all fears, no. It is true that some people have been bound by the demon of fear for so long and may need deliverance prayer to provide the initial momentum,but we will still have to encounter that evil spirit on a day to day basis. We can defeat him using the name of Jesus, Blood of Jesus and most importantly, through deliberate positive action. The truth is that even if you did not know how to use the name of Jesus or blood of Jesus, but knew how to stand your ground and make yourself do the things you fear doing, you will achieve a lot of success. On the other hand, saying the name of Jesus or blood of Jesus alone will not stop your fears. Faith without action is dead.

It is important to note that no matter how intelligent or talented you are, you will never reach the height of your succeed if you allow your life to be run by fears,doubt,anger, hatred ,inferiority, pride,bitterness,envy,anxiety,and even selfishness. You need to overcome all these aspects through deliberate positive action. Make yourself say or do the exact opposite of what you would emotionally  like to say or do. Success follows the bold and if your life is every going to get better, you have to take useful risks.
